California SB 553 workplace violence law - offer related to July 1, 2024 deadline

Hi California WPO members, I wanted to reach out regarding a new legal requirement in California that may impact many of us in the state. Before July 1, 2024, almost all California employers with more than 10 employees must have a written Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP) specific to the hazards and corrective measures for each location as well as provide a training to all their employees.

My company, CDMS, has trained staff to prepare the plans and conduct the training in person as well as through online webinars/recorded videos.

I am assuming most WPO members will create the plan themselves or work with their lawyers to do that. For those creating the plan themselves - these two links would be useful.

The tricky part about making the training easily accessible for business managers to train their employees is that it has to be customized to the location and the corresponding plan items. We at CDMS are doing this for most of our regular industrial clients.

In case this is helpful for WPO California members, I would like to offer a 50% discount on my workplace violence prevention training course and services.

The CDMS video training covers all the mandated elements of this new law. For members creating their own WVPP, our service includes our specialists reviewing the plan, conducting a remote interview with their team, developing a custom appendix, recording a custom video addendum. The training is then made available via video on our online LMS (learning management system) for assigning to their employees and tracking certificates.

Anyone interested in this should reach out to service@cdms.com and mention that they are a part of WPO and Alvic on our team can help take care of this or answer any questions people may have.

Best regards,

Sajama
