Thanks for the great ideas and feedback. Looks like most were very favorable about both options, and they are available on December 10th. So now, we need to choose one to secure our reservation. I'd also like to ask for volunteers to work with me to finalize the details.
Option A: Mahjong and Dinner in Tiburon
This would be a private event held at California Mahjong House (californiamahjonghouse.com). They will provide an instructor (Introduction to American Mahjong), and will provide everything needed for the event, including the instructor, tables, mahjong tiles, mats, and racks. We could bring in our own food and beverage, and/or follow with dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Option B: Cooking Class at Ghirardelli Square in SF
This would be a private 3 hour cooking class put on by Culinary Artistas. They recommend the "Cooking from Scratch" program for our group (https://www.culinaryartistas.com/) which they describe as "team building meets culinary education" ending with a shared, family style meal.
