Follow-up from July '24 Meeting

Hi everyone,


Tonight we did a 'deep dive' into understanding each others' approach to sales - spanning business-business, business-consumer, business-government. Even with all the obvious differences in business models, we could easily see similarities in terms of the importance of thought leadership, assertive networking, talent development, well-understood processes, and metrics that matter. The discussion reinforced the criticality of strong sales processes and provoked everyone to think about what each company needs from the CEO in the sales process. Thanks Barbara for initiating this discussion.


Thanks also to Lisa B for bringing a real-time issue to the group for discussion. I admire the ability of this group to bring meaty issues to the table, and to engage so thoughtfully with their questions and sharing of experiences. Tonight was no exception. We'll look forward to hearing the sequel in an upcoming meeting.


We'll continue with this format of one strategic and one real-time topic for each meeting. As previously identified, the strategic topic for August will be "Implementing Change". Tanis volunteered to kick-off this topic, and I'll encourage others who are implementing significant change in their businesses to be prepared to share their experiences as well. I'll send a note one week prior to set up this discussion.
